Down but not out

Jack is still fighting off a cold. It has moved into his chest now, so he's on a new battery of drugs. Poor guy. I feel like I spend my days wiping his nose every 2 seconds. But he doesn't let it get him down for too long........ as you can see. I got him a big, shiny balloon to entertain him while I pack. He has also taken to carrying the Motrin bottle around in his mouth. Lovely.

Chasing Jack

That pretty much sums up what I do when not packing these days. They actually go hand in hand! Here are a couple of pics that illustrate how difficult it is to catch Jack on film these days....... 8 days and counting until the movers come.

On the move

Jack is never still these days....... always moving from one part of the house to another. He moves furniture to help him get around as well. He loves playing with his car collection and will drag them around with him. He likes to put them up on the tables and "drive" them around. It's cute to watch. At last, he pauses to fill up the tank, so to speak.

Jack's new toy and trick

Jack is recovering from a cold this week. He feels so much better now! I got him the most obnoxious toy I could find to lift his spirits after feeling so badly all week. It's a tricked out Hummer with spinners. On top of that, it plays rap music! He loves it of course........ truly my son :) His favorite new hiding place is under the ottoman. He pushes all of his toys under there and will play contently. Officially 2 weeks until closing on the new house.........

Tyler's Birthday Party

Jack attended his first birthday party of this year yesterday for his friend Tyler. Jack and Tyler were born a month apart! The party was at Gymrompers and he had a blast. Tyler was very neat and didn't smash his cake. We'll see what Jack does next month.......... hmmmm.

Mardi Gras Mambo

We took Jack to his very first Mardi Gras parade last night. It was freezing cold outside, hence the multiple layers of clothing and blankets you see here. This is his friend Connor, who is 2 days younger than Jack! They seem to get into trouble together...... crawling up stairs, opening up cabinets. Quite the dynamic duo!!

Fun in Memphis

We all travelled to Memphis this week while Dave had some things to take care of there. Jack got to spend time with his cousins, Henry, Ryley and newest cousin Caroline. He even played with Aunt Christy while she talked on the phone!! He loves phones :)



Henry and Jack did everything together........ took baths, played in Henry's crib, went to the park, and even learning to share toys!

Busy baby

Here's how Jack occupies his time while mommy packs up the house. He just LOVES the dump truck "aunt" Lauren gave him. Good thing it's made of durable plastic b/c he flings, hits, pushes and rough-houses with it all day long! He also loved playing with his Grandma Bits while she visited.


















Here he is playing with his new discovery, the kitchen cabinets. Downright loves them. Good thing most of the pots and pans are packed already or else they would be his new favorite toy.

New tricks

Here he is looking at "kitty brother Elliott". He just loves Elliott and is quickly catching up to him in speed! Jack's newest trick is throwing things over the rail of his crib. I've walked in after naps to find his lovey and socks on the ground by his crib. We're definitely in that stage of dropping things. It's lots of fun! Especially when it's food off of his highchair :)

Balloons

Jack's new toy of the moment are balloons. He LOVES them in fact. He'd play contently for hours if I let him. We tied the string around his waist to keep the balloon from flying away. It was kind of nice b/c we knew where he was at every moment!

He's also sporting a nice rocker hairstyle compliments of mommy and lots of hairspray. It was a bad hair day anyway!!

Jack on the go

Here is Jack as he moves about on our furinture and has the most fun in a box (while mommy made dinner). He's not much help packing, but at least he's content in a confined space!
