Halloween!!!

Jack had a full day of Halloween fun. He went to MDO today and got lots of treat bags from his classmates. Then we went over to Alyssa's house when he woke up from his nap to play with his playgroup friends. Jack and Alyssa proudly showed their LSU spirit, complete with tiger paw temporary tattoos! Getting all of the children (2 and under) to pose for a group picture was impossible..... but you can see for yourself the cute costumes.

We started off to our old street to see the old neighbors and their kids. Jack was perfectly content to ride in his red wagon until we happened upon a house with a black lab. He is a dog lover!!!! After that he was running the streets and we had to bust out the stroller so he could be strapped down. Dave definitely earned his title of the baby wrangler b/c he chased Jack while his playgroup friends trick or treated. Jack was unsure of what to do when we actually went door to door and prefered to eat candy instead!

When we visited our old and new neighbors we had Jack help us hand out candy. Boy did he love that job! He grabbed handfulls of candy and dropped them into the bags with no problems. He also made sure to dump all of the candy out of the bin and put it back in (a favorite pass time at our house). Overall Jack's 2nd Halloween was loads of fun. Dave and I will both sleep soundly tonight after chasing him around the streets though.......

Pumpkin carving...?!?

We had such plans for a leisurely afternoon of carving pumpkins with friends. We must have forgotten that we have an active toddler who has zero interest in carving pumpkins! He was more interested in running in the street (oh so fun, let me tell you). All in all, the party was fun and Jack had fun with his playgroup friends (Dean, Anna Jayne and Alyssa). We were able to corral the children in the back of Dave's truck for a few minutes. Whatever keeps them out of the street right? Here are all of the pumpkins after we managed to carve them...... so spooky! And yes, the pirate outfit made an encore appearance. Jack will be a LSU football player on Tuesday.

On a side note, Jack has become quite the mother's helper lately. I try to involve Jack anytime I bake or cook. He is proficient at putting muffin liners in the pan and can stir batter with help. Ok, lots of help! We made cupcakes for the party together and I think they turned out pretty cute :)

Trunk or Treat

Jack experienced trick or treating today with my Mom's group. We had a trunk or treat (you decorate the trunk of your car and put candy out for the kids). It rained this afternoon but cleared up long enough for the kids to venture out. There was also a storytime for the kids. Jack dressed up as a pirate, minus the hat. No way was a hat going on his head! We've been practicing saying "trick or treat" but when the time came he wouldn't do it. Here are pictures of Jack with his friends Tank and Luke (the monkey and chicken) and Carmen (as Dorothy). All in all he had a blast and will enjoy an encore performance on Tuesday!!

Arts and crafts time

Jack went to his Toddlearn class today and had a great time. He's turned a new leaf lately in that he's actually interested in art time. He used to just run around or obsess about putting the caps on the markers instead of participating! Here he is sitting at the table waiting patiently to start the project.

Trick or treat?

Jack and his playgroup decorated treat bags today. It was more like the parents decorated the bags as best they could with screaming children running about. Ha ha. For some reason there were lots of tears today from almost every child there. Guess they are practicing being ghosts and goblins for next week! Jack will be dressing up as an LSU football player and/or a pirate. We have a jam packed weekend of fun ahead so he'll have plenty of opportunities to dress up! Check back soon for new pictures.

Life size Barney

Mimi and Mama headed home today. They left something very big and purple for Jack to remember them by however! Jack loved his time with them and kept saying "bye" on the drive home from the airport.

His Gigi came to visit also last week and I am just now posting those pictures. Jack enjoys playing with the Leapfrog fridge set as you can see. Sometimes his pants don't make it back on as diaper changes are often like a wrestling match.... I'm not sure who wins or loses though.

Big hugs and kisses to all of Jack's grandmothers!!!

Jack and the giant pumpkin

Jack's Mimi and Mama are in town for a visit. He's enjoying all of the extra attention and kisses! We took him to the pumkin patch for a photo op. Don't really know the point of trying to get a 19 month old (today!) to pose for pictures though. It's more like action photography with a fickle subject. We did manage to snap some cute pictures though. I thought his fall outfit was just too cute! Wait till y'all see his Christmas outfit in a couple of months!!! (Thanks Gigi!).

Baylor Bear

Aunt Lauren sent Jack a Baylor t-shirt last week. He wasn't feeling the best this weekend (all better now) so today was his first time to wear the shirt (a 3T if you believe that). He's getting the hang of the whole "Sic'em Bears" thing as you can see.

Jack woke up from his afternoon nap a total grouch so Alyssa came over to play. That always puts Jack into a good mood! Notice how big Jack's head is in the picture by the window. Hadskey head 100%! Jack had poor little Alyssa pull him around in his wagon and wouldn't return the favor. Guess he takes after his mommy.........

Hotlanta

e

We took a weekend trip to Atlanta to visit some friends of mine. Jack hadn't seen his friend Avery since early April but they picked right back up from where they left off! They were two peas in a pod, constantly hugging and playing so well together. Avery shares Jack's interest in Thomas the Train as well. Sometimes the hugging turned into what we call "bodyslamming", but it was well-intentioned!! Jack also was very sweet around baby Griffin and didn't mind terribly much if Mommy held him.

We made a pitstop at Talladega Race Track and got Jack a hotwheel. There is a big race next weekend so we weren't able to tour the track. Jack did amazingly well in the car thanks to the portable DVD player and non-stop Barney. I think if Dave or I met Barney in person we would take great pleasure in killing him after listening to his antics for 8 hours straight. But that's neither here nor there........... Now Jack can say that he traveled through 4 states in one weekend!!!
