Geaux Tigers

We traveled into Baton Rouge this weekend for the LSU game. It was my first game of the season and LSU won. We had to snap a picture of all of us in our purple and gold for the blog. "Aunt Lauren" is going to Waco this weekend and is going to pick up a Baylor shirt for Jack so I'll update when he gets his shirt. Thanks Lauren!!! Here's another picture of Jack and Alyssa eating popcorn from their cups.

Jack vs. the shirt

Jack has been spoiled by short sleeve shirts for a long time. We've had a bit of a cold snap here the past few days and it's been in the low 60's in the mornings so I put Jack in a longsleeve shirt for MDO. You can see his reaction. Hmmm. It's going to be a long Fall and Winter at this rate..........

First kiss

Jack and his friend Alyssa play together most every day. They get along so well it's amazing. Alyssa first met Jack when he was only a month old, so they go way back ;) Jack is pretty good at giving kisses now but we have to tell him to "kiss on the mouth" (or else he'll just blow a kiss). Here he is giving Alyssa a kiss "on the mouth". It took about 4 trys to catch it on with the camera. We joke that they'll get married one day and we can show these pictures at their slideshow.

Sean Preston who?

Jack straight up hates hats. Won't tolerate them in any fashion, not even for a second. Today we were playing around with one of Daddy's hats and he just had the best time! Hope he doesn't get put on the worst dressed list for this.......

PS- can you tell Jack is a raging LSU fan? Sorry Baylor friends. No store here carries anything Baylor..... but if you send it he'll wear it. :)

Playgroup fun

Jack had some of his friends over for weekly playgroup today. He has so much fun running around, especially with his friend Tank (nickname for Frank). His other friends Carmen and Luke are giving the bigger kids a run for their money lately though!! As you can see, the moms in playgroup have just as much fun as the kids sometimes........ like this girl's night in!! And yes, Jack got yet another haircut today. He was rotten at first but was easily bribed with a sucker. Thank goodness b/c that boys hair was getting long!!!!

Final entry

Once Jack had what I refer to as "sweaty head" (see photo), we headed inside for dinner. Jack's appetite has been somewhat fleeting these days. He's always up for a sippy cup but he is definitely a picky toddler. I think it has to do with the everlasting saga of teething (did I mention that my child is the SLOWEST teether in the human species??). Tonight his appetite was back in full force. He at his entire dinner, a banana, diced peaches, 3 cookies and then grabbed for some of my asparagus. Yes that's right, asparagus and cookies. Mmmmm...... In one of the pictures he's saying "cheers" and toasting his cookie with me. He went on to toast nearly every peach bite he ate. Ahhh the memories we'll have!!!

Part Deux.........

When we came home from Toddlearn, it was evident that Jack had more energy to burn off. He was appropriately wearing his Outdoor Guy t-shirt........ so outside we went. Luckily the weather has been pleasant in the mornings and evenings. Here Jack is navigating the slide all by himself. I had the forethought to grab the camera before we headed outside!!! We ususally spend the time before dinner outside with Elliott the cat. He and Jack have great fun together exploring the woods that are our backyard.

A typical day with Jack..... the series

To say that Jack is a bundle of energy would be an understatement. Let me outline a "typical" day with him. We went to MDO this morning. He still cried when we approached the building, but then so were the other 20 kids there! LOL. When I picked him up, the kind grandmotherly woman in his classroom informed me that he had been sleeping on her shoulder for the past 45 minutes!!! Score one for Jack!

Anyway, he still took an awesome nap for me this afternoon and when he woke up I took him to Toddlearn for a late afternoon play session. Here he is playing with the chalkboard/coloring easel with his friend Anna Jayne.

MDO

Jack started MDO today at our church. He screamed when I dropped him off, but he always does that when we take him to the nursery at church! He warmed up though and ended up having a great day (they give us a report card each day). When I came back to get him he was playing contently with a stuffed Barney doll nearby :) Guess he made a friend ;)

On the way home I gave him the Husky dog that Grandma Bits sent him from Alaska. He loved on it and just about fell asleep on the way home (notice him dozing off in the car). Overall, his first day at MDO went very well. Mommy managed to go the dentist, post office and grocery store!! Yippee!
