More Houston pics

Mimi took Jack to Chuck E Cheese's for the first time while he was in Houston. She said that he had a blast and loved driving the car with Stuart Little. He also saw Barney up close but was scared of him (he's obsessed with Barney these days). Here he is playing on the floor with Popa. He sends big hugs and kisses to his Mimi and Popa for the great time he had with them!!

Jack and Alyssa

Jack's friend Alyssa came over to play today. Getting Jack to pose for a picture is tough enough, but trying to capture the two of them together was flat impossible! Feel your pain Courtney! Jack had sooooo much fun in Houston with his Mimi and Popa. He's wearing the Thomas the Train shirt that Mimi got for him.

Houston pics

Jack met his cousin Corinne (my best friend Jen's little girl) for the first time. Jack and Corinne are exactly a year apart (by three days!!!). Jack was a little unsure of his Mimi holding someone else though..........

Here's a picture of Jack at the Children's Museum in Houston. Mimi knows exactly what Jack loves. "choo-choo".

Typical Jack

Jack is with his Mimi right now in Houston, but she sent me some pictures from her visit earlier this month. Here he is doing what he does best, play with cars/trains and running. He gives really sweet baby kisses too but they're hard to catch on the camera ;)

Champ car t-shirt

Uncle Miller gave Jack a Champ car shirt a while back and it finally fits. We attempted to get his hair cut today but that was not happening! Jack pretty much showed out and we had to leave. The funny moment was him playing with Nascar toys while wearing the Champ car shirt. Only really Uncle Miller will appreciate this comment.

Elmo tent

Jack has finally warmed up to his Elmo tent. It took several months of persuasion to get him inside of it. It's hard to catch a cute pose these days since Jack never sits still for even a second. In one shot he was about to throw a Thomas train to me.

Family Reunion

We just returned from McComb, MS and the Hadskey Family reunion. It takes place every year at this time. Jack's grand-daddy celebrated his 70th birthday while we were there. Jack really enjoyed playing with all of his cousins. He got a little too excited one day and hit his head on the edge of the coffee table....... leading to a huge goose egg on his forehead. Luckily we Hadskey's have extremely hard heads and he is fine now (sporting a lovely bruise, but fine). Jack is obsessed with Barney these days and spent lots of time watching him on the portable DVD. He asks for Barney by name and then dances to make sure we understood! The newest addition to the family is little Caroline. Don't think that I didn't try several times to steal her!!! ;)

Key West pics

We're back from Key West and had a blast while we were there. Missed Jack tons though! We stayed at a little Bed & Breakfast called Andrews Inn. We had never done the B&B thing before but it was wonderful. We always had the pool to ourselves and made several "friends" with the Hemingway cats that strolled in (our B&B was right next door to the Hemingway house). Dave planned a very romantic dinner for my birthday. We had the premier table at a lovely Itailian restaurant. I'm officially 29 and holding ;)

We rode bikes all around the island and shopped most everyday. Our last night there we took a sunset cruise. It rained for about half of it but then the skies cleared and we witnessed an amazing sunset! The roosters were everywhere and I got a kick out of seeing them. Overall we had a blast and look forward to returning to Key West!

So I lied

One more post before we leave for Key West! These pictures are from a get together we had on the 4th. We're pretty sure that Jack has a new crush on a fellow playmate........ but see for yourself!

Toddlearn

There is this place called Toddlearn that just opened up here. We enrolled Jack for a 12 week session this summer and he loves going there. You can see him riding the "rollercoaster" and enjoying the ball pit. There are tons of different stations that he can go to and play as he chooses. And the best part is that he naps like a champ when we get home. This will be the last update for about a week. Dave and I are headed to Key West (without Jack!!) and then to the Hadskey Family reunion right when we get back. More updates to follow later!

I can sort!

Jack has taken interest in a shape sorting toy that we've had forever. He'll put the lid on, push the shapes through the correct slot, and then take the lid off and dump the shapes out to play all over again. It's amazing how he just does stuff now. Whatever keeps him happy and quiet is a winner in my book!

Jack the mooch

Jack loves him some popcorn, that's for sure. Mimi is also a huge fan of popcorn (wonder where on earth he got it from?). Jack was eating dinner when Mimi popped a bag and it was all over after that. Dinner was pretty much as much popcorn as Jack could stuff into his mouth...... which is suprisingly a lot.
