Corn on the cob

We've discovered that Jack really enjoys corn on the cob. I've always held it for him while he took bites, but on a whim I decided to let him try. He fared very well! Even used it as a teether for those annoying molars that are taking their time cutting through. It was one of the most pleasant meals I've had with Jack......... he didn't make a peep all through dinner!! :)

Heaps of fun

Jack's latest thing is the concept of "in and out". He LOVES to take books, toys, etc. out of a box or toychest and then put them back in (thankful for that). He will do this countless times and it's hilarious to watch!! We're still patiently waiting for our bedroom furniture to come in (ordered the first of the year). I onlymention this b/c it's holding up unpacking several rooms in the house...... hence the box of stuff that Jack got into tonight.

Shark PJ's and other happenings

Jack loves to play with the car carrier truck that Shannon gave him for his birthday. Here he is in his shark pajamas (notice the short summer haircut- his 3rd so far). I'll give Old Navy credit, they have some pretty cute sleepwear for boys...... even though they hardly carry a lick of boys clothing.

You'll also notice Jack getting into the ice maker on the fridge. The drawbacks of a tall child. Ha ha. Actually, he likes to put toys in the covey. It won't be long till I'll find ice on the floor though.......

Sprinkler adventure

It hasn't rained here in a very long time so we're constantly running the sprinkler. Dave thought Jack would enjoy playing in the sprinkler...... and indeed he did!! He was just the cutest little thing I've ever seen in his Nemo swim diaper. He was so mad at me when I brought him in and dried him off. Not sure if he'll ever forgive me..... until next time :)

Open and close

This is what Jack loves to do these days....... open and close just about any cabinet he can get his little hands onto! Hey, at least he's content :)

Easter Sunday

Jack's second Easter was much more fun than his first! (He was just a young chap of 2 weeks old last Easter). We dressed him up in a cute Easter outfit and gave him his basket of treats. He was obsessed with the pinwheel that the Easter Bunny left him. Still is actually......... He is also in love with the empty eggs. Carries them everywhere and chews on them! I suspect he's cutting a molar (from my brave attempts of reaching in his mouth) as he will chew on anything around.

Sunday also marked an important milestone for Jack. He graduated to the toddler nursery at church. Miss Jessica, his favorite nursery worker was a little sad to see him go. We tried posing for a nice family photo after church, but Jack wasn't cooperating. I've switched to action photography these days since the times of posed photos are long over. Does it show?

Easter Egg Hunt

Jack's playgroup had an Easter egg hunt today. At first Jack wasn't too keen on the idea, but with a little coaxing, he caught on quickly! Here he is in his Easter overalls that Mimi got him last year (bought big!). His friends Alyssa, Samantha and Jacob were there today too. It was fun.

Easter time

I traveled to Dallas this past weekend for my friend Lauren's baby shower. Dave had Jack all to himself and they had a blast. He took Jack to have his picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Jack did great! He even cracked a smile. Dave also took him to a Thomas the Train event in Baton Rouge and got Jack all sort of new train tracks and bridges for his train set. What a great weekend!

Back home

Jack and I took a fun trip over to Houston last week. He stayed at Mimi and Popa's while I was with my friend Jen. He had the best time over there and started walking everywhere. He had been taking steps for about 6 weeks, but nothing more than 8 or so. Not anymore! Mimi took him outside to play every afternoon b/c he loves the outdoors. In one picture he's riding Popa's old horsey. His personality is really coming out now and he cracks himself up at least 3 times a day. What a ham!
