Bath time

Mimi and Popa are here for a visit. We played in the backyard and then it was time to clean up before bed. Here Jack is going head first into the water, which he thinks is just the best. I swear sometimes that he's trying to drown himself! My messpot!!

Joe Cool

As I'm getting Jack ready to go to the pool I found these cute sunglasses. Here's his reaction to them.............. Eye protection, yeah right!

Mimi and Mama

Jack's Mimi and Mama are here for a visit this weekend. He's had so much fun with them. Mimi got him the camo shirt that reads "Outdoor Guy". So fitting! He's been dishing out the open mouth kisses to everyone this weekend. What a charmer.

Leaps and bounds

Grandma Bits got Jack a stacking toy and he really likes it. He knew exactly what to do with it and just loves to stack the blocks. He's also started linking several of his trains together (vs. just a couple) and putting them on the tracks. My baby is sure growing up fast!

Father's Day

We spent Father's Day at the New Orleans Aquarium. It just re-opened after Katrina on Memorial Day weekend. It looked amazing and only a couple of the exhibits were still closed. Over 8,000 animals were lost in the days after Katrina so the aquarium staff did a great job cleaning up and restocking. Jack really enjoyed the fish and other animals. You'll notice Jack and the white alligator glaring at each other. Overall it was a fabulous Father's Day!!

Jack and Alex

Jack's friend Alex came into town a couple of weeks ago and we went to the waterspouts. The boys had a blast...... mostly trying to steal toys from each other! Thanks for posting this pic Karin!!

Peekaboo

Grandma Bits and Aunt Debbie stopped by today on their way back from Florida. It just happened to be Grandma's birthday and Jack really enjoyed eating some petit fors that I got for her (he ate 3). He played a rousing game of peekaboo with Debbie when we got home, probably still high on sugar...........

Feeling better

Jack is feeling loads better.......... he was even up for a party last night between the hours of 10-2 am. It was the strangest thing! He woke up crying and played hard for 4 hours. Even had a snack or two. Dave and I were puzzled and tired to say the least. Our darling didn't even sleep in after that. I took him for his 5th haircut today. His hair grows like a chia pet!

Sweet baby boy

Our poor baby boy has double ear infections :( He's been feeling crummy for a couple of days (while I was out of town with him of course). He's been sleeping with us while he feels bad. Thought this was too sweet not to post.

Zoo to do

After the LSU trip, we took Jack to the Baton Rouge zoo. There is a train that takes you around the zoo and of course we had to ride that right away. Jack really enjoyed the train, even though he wanted mommy to hold him halfway through the adventure (I was in the car in front of him and we couldn't pass him from car to car). He rode in his stroller and looked at the animals with great curiosity. I'd dare to say that he was more interested in the children at the zoo than the animals though!

LSU trip

We took Jack to his very first trip to LSU to see Mike the Tiger. Bitsy got Jack a brick in front of Mike's new habitat for Christmas and it was just put in last month. Jack was fascinated with Mike (I tried to explain that it was a big "Elliott", but he didn't seem to buy that explanation). Jack is pointing to things now and took great pride in pointing to his brick........ more like someone else's brick, but he was close! We got him a new LSU t-shirt and went on to the zoo. Jack's cave

Jack has been rising with the sun the past few weeks...... literally. Mommy decided she had had enough of that ruckus and installed denim roman shades to darken his room. Thought you all would get a kick out of the pictures, one taken with the flash and the other without. You get the idea. I'm happy to report he slept till 7:45am today and takes excellent naps now!!! Yippee.
