Theo is here!!!

Jack is proud to announce the arrival of his baby brother, Theodore Reid, born at 11:16 am and weighing in at a sturdy 9lbs 2oz. Jack was so excited to see his brother through the nursery glass and will get the chance to meet and hold Theo tomorrow morning. Theo has already stolen all of our hearts and we are fighting over who gets to kiss those chubby cheeks!!!

Continue to check for more pictures daily. I'll probably use this site since most people check this blog more often than the September Surprise.

1st day of pre-school

Jack started at Kehoe today. They start at 8 am and the school takes a solid 30 minutes to get to now that school is back in session so I was very happy when Jack woke up by himself at 7am. He gave us a fight changing his diaper and getting dressed but then he was good as gold once we got to the car. I walked him to his class and gave him a big kiss. He told me "bye mommy" and that was it! Here is part of his classroom and his cute uniform. He's so grown up, sniff sniff.

Alyssa's 3rd Birthday

We went to Alyssa's 3rd birthday party yesterday. Good thing b/c her real birthday will be shared with the baby this coming Friday!! It was held at a gymnastics place that has an awesome play area for little kids. We had never been there, but as you can see, Jack was having a blast! He and Alyssa jumped on the trampolines and got all up in the spacewalk. There was also a foam pit and Jack did not hesitate to jump in it. Daddy was a lifesaver keeping up with Jack since I pretty much just sat in a chair the entire time!!!

Meet the teacher day

We've decided to send Jack to the private school that he went to this summer for preschool. This all pretty much came about yesterday and they happened to have one spot left. Today I took him to see his classroom and to meet his teachers. There will be 8 kids in his class and he has two teacher, Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Kelly. The classroom was set up so beautifully and has so many neat areas that I know Jack will love. He learned so much over the summer at Kehoe and we know he's going to continue that this year. I was really sad to call our church and give up his spot at MDO but I know that he's ready for a preschool environment and keeping him in MDO wouldn't be in his best interest. He starts school on Tuesday and I'm sure we'll have many more pictures to follow!

I must add that I really wanted to sit and take a gazillion pictures of the amazing classroom but I didn't want to seem like the annoying parent right off the bat. I decided to quietly take this picture of Jack in front of his name on the table :)

Puzzle Master

We took Jack to a local LSU store to get a new jersey for this year. While we were there we picked up a puzzle for him thinking later on he would enjoy putting it together. Our little man surprises us everyday though..... he pretty much did it with very little help the first time we tried it. Now he puts it together all by himself. We have to hide the puzzle b/c he will insist on putting it together over and over and over......

Desperate times.....

Call for desperate measures!!! And we're desperate to entertain our active 2 year old in 100 degree heat! We've tried taking him to the pool, soccer fields, you name it..... and he still has more energy than his 9 month pregnant mom can handle. He finally met his match today though. We got him this bounce house to burn off some energy. We figured it would be a good investment since we'll have another 2 year old down the road *yikes*. He was so sweaty and tired that he didn't put up a fight to come in and take a bath. Score one for the parents!

Goofing off

Mimi came this past week to help us get ready for the baby. She also took on the lion's share of entertaining Jack and attempting to wear him out. She found out first hand that it's an impossible feat and he will wear you out first! Ha ha. I was going through his art work from Kehoe and found this hat. He enjoyed parading around the house in it. Thanks for all of the dishes you cooked and loads of wash that you did Mimi. See you very soon!

We have a date

My c-section is set for August 31 at 10:00 am. It wasn't my first choice being that it's a Friday, but the hospital didn't have any other morning dates available. I'm not doing an evening c-section again if I can help it! Let the countdown begin......

Puddle jumping

Somedays it feels like we live on the West Coast..... up in Seattle to be exact because it rains EVERYDAY here. Yesterday we made the best of it and put on Jack's boots and showed him how to jump in the puddles. He may as well have been barefoot because he got soaking wet! He sat down in the water a few times and his boots were full of water. He sure did have fun though!!

Look at my "hair"

Poor Jack's head is just big..... shirts don't come off easily and never have! We like to pretend that the stuck shirts are hair. He looks so cute and he'll run around playing with his "hair". Too funny!
