RIP TV

Today we bid farewell to an old friend, our first HDTV that Jack unintentionally broke a few weeks back. That was a sad day at our house as this TV was Dave's other "baby". But only good came out of this as we opted to mount a plasma TV far, far away from tantruming-two year old hands and this has surprisingly opened up the room more than we could have imagined. I was pretty much sitting on the couch with my feet propped up eating sherbert when I took the latter picture. Jack is in Houston this week visiting Mimi and Popa so I can lead a life of luxury for a few more days!!

Guess what I ate for lunch today!

Jack is going to a private school this summer for day camp MWF. Today was pizza day and it's hard not to see that......... his whole shirt is covered in pizza sauce. He found some of his Daddy's socks and has been wearing them around the house since he got home. You'll also notice that I cut his hair yesterday. It had gotten long again so I bought a clipper set and put it to good use. Think I did a good job?

Daytime adventures

We had one rainy day during our week in Navarre and we used that opportunity to tour the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola. This was a little boys dream tour! Lots of airplanes and cockpits that you could sit in and touch. There was also a great play area that Jack played in for over an hour while mommy saw an IMAX movie (thanks Daddy!). Here are some of the pictures from that day.

We did make it to the local zoo and I think Jack liked the playset there more than the animals that he saw!! What can I say, the boy loves to climb and slide.

Navarre beach

We took Jack to Navarre beach for a week (just outside of Destin, FL). We rented a beach house with some friends of ours and their two kids, Carter and Avi. The kids got along so well and entertained each other. Jack absolutely loved the beach, especially getting in the ocean. He had no fear at all and that of course made me nervous! He did enjoy playing in the sand for short periods of time but usually ended up making a break for the water. Dave had Jack-wrangling duty in the water since I move about as fast as a turtle these days. My favorite time of day to hit the beach was about 5 pm b/c it was nice and "cool" and you didn't have to lather up in sunscreen.

Here are some shots of everyone playing in the sand and of Jack in the water. We'll definitely make this an annual trip!

Back from Colorado

Dave and I ventured to Estes Park, CO on Thursday for a business meeting. We stayed at the Stanley Hotel, made famous for two reasons..... Stephen King wrote "The Shining" while staying there and the tv version of "The Shining" was filmed there. Thank goodness it wasn't the movie version b/c I would have flat out refused to stay there! Besides being mildly freaked out at first and nervous about noises at night we had a fabulous time and loved the cool weather. We had a tough time adjusting to being 9000 feet above sea level though! I felt like anything I did would make me short of breath, even rolling over in bed! We loved the weather though since the HIGH was 72..... hence forcing me to dig through my maternity clothes from Jack's pg before I left. No shorts or tank tops needed there!

Here are pictures of the front of the hotel, the view of the Rocky Mountains from the back of the hotel, and a picture of the "girls" I hung out with while Dave was attending meetings (Rebecca from NC, me, cousin Ashley, and "SIL" Christy). I'll be taking a belly shot and posting it on the baby's blog as I am officially in my 3rd trimester now!!!

Craft table

My friend Rochelle gave Jack this craft lap table for his birthday. After dinner tonight I decided to bust it out and let Jack color away. He loved it and we'll be using it alot I'm sure. I keep all of the markers and only give him one at a time. I shudder to think what damage he would do if I left him have free reign! You may wonder why he doesn't have a shirt on in the pictures....... just skip down to the last picture and that should answer the question. He has to put the caps back on the markers himself and it sometimes turns messy!!!
